• Vampric Glamour (bloodline specific):-
  
   The ability to 'glamour' other vampires. This means that a vampire subjected to his power, must like regular glamour works with humans, is made to feel such overwhelming loyalty and affection to him that he/she will do as he desires without question. This power is only used intentionally.
  
  
  • Initiate level: He can easily glamour young vampires (child level), initiates, and most dhampiers once eye contact has been established, and maintains control so long as he is with the general area and/or for a short time after the individual has left his presence. It takes effort for him to effect masters and particularly powerful dhampiers, but it can be done with eye contact, but with this group he must remain within the general area.
    
    No effect on elite or high class vampires (regardless of age ). No effect on elder or ancient aged vampires (regardless of class )
  • Master level: Can easily glamour any dhampier and Master class or lower with eye contact, control remains so long as he is in the general area and/or for a short time after he is no longer present (longer for lower class). It takes effort for him to glamour Elite class, but can be done with eye contact, he must be in the general area for control to be maintained.
    No effect on High class vampires, more difficulty effecting elder vampires (regardless of class), No effect on Ancient vampires (regardless of class).
  • Elite level: Can easily glamour Elite class and below with eye contact, maintaining control so long as he is in the area or for a moderate time (1-2 hours for elite) after he is no longer present. Can initiate glamour on Iniaiates and Dhampiers by looking at them without their return gaze. It takes effort for him to glamour a High class vampire, but can be done through eye contact, must remain present to maintain control.
    
    More difficulty effecting Ancient vampires. No effect on Kaiser rank.
  • High level: Can easily glamour any class through eye contact, control is maintained while he is in the general area and for 3-4 hours after contact. Can initiate glamour without the return gaze of Master class or lower.
    
    Ancient vampires must still remain in his presence to control, Kaiser rank takes more effort than other ancients.
  • Note: as he himself reaches mature, elder, and ancient ages the it will become easier to effect ancients and Kaiser ranked vampires. At the elder age he would be able to effect multiple vampires at mature ages or younger, and at the ancient ages he would be able to control multiple vampires regardless of age. This will not happen on site, but closes the gap between the layout of his advancement relevant to the site and the final level of his this bloodline specific power.
• The Sentinel:
  
  All vampires posses heightened senses, but the sentinel power takes this to the extreme. Superior senses mean, shy of illusions or other interfering abilities, he will be nearly impossible to lose if he is on your trail, and just as difficult to sneak past. This ability has a passive element, in that he doesn't have to concentrate necessarily to notice something, but he may pause to put concentration into zeroing in on the specific sense that is being stimulated and in analyzing what has stimulated it.

• Aura of Intrigue (Bloodline specific):
  
  This ability allows Antilles to project an aura around a large area that generate a sense of comradery, leisure, general good will, and an absent low level fondness towards himself. This is not as potent as glamouring, as he doesn't control vampires, but rather just stimulates general feelings within those within the affected area. It does however compliment the Vampiric Glamour ability nicely, and coincides with fostering later realized attributes in the other ability.

• Designer Blood:
  
  When vampiric slaves were one carefully bred to advance attributes that were especially help to their masters, one common attribute that was honed was for vampiric slaves, often serving to care for young vampires to produce extra, and especially potent blood. While it doesn't taste much different, it is especially nutritious, apt to passing on strength, and of course is available in greater quantity. This ability, however was not likely to be realized until the slave was cultivated to the point he/she actually had something worth offering to their charges.

Weaknesses Outline

• Offensive to Animals:
  
  Animals can sense Antilles' nature, and take exception to his presence. The reaction of the animal depends on what type it is, and how use to humans or vampires it might but, but general, nervousness, fear, and/or aggression can be expected (this weakness becomes more profound as he advances)
  
  
  • Initiate Class: Most animals are nervous, prey animals shying away and domestic animals cowering and slinking off. Wild predators are more likely to simply back away and growl and snap warnings at him. Animals that are conditioned to the presence of vampires will likely treat him however they normally relate to vampires. Those trained to take on vampires, will find extra motive to go after Antilles.
  • Master Class: Small animals, most prey animals, and any domestic creature not trained for attack are afraid and will flee. Domestic animals that aren't trained for attack will cower, and threaten to defend themselves. Attack trained domestic, large wild predators, and the more aggressive large prey animals with threaten attack, and will follow through if they sense weakness in him. Animals accustomed to vampires will be uneasy, and avoid him, those trained for attacking vampires will be eager to attack him, and will be zealous in that attack without other provocations.
  • Elite Class: Small animals, non-agressive prey, and most domestic animals will sense him at a distance and hide or flee displaying obvious signs of distress. Dogs will lunge at fences or at the end of tethers, loudly threatening attack (but will back down if pressed ). Aggressive prey animals (bison, moose ect ), and large predators will actively seek an opportunity to strike, but will be wary of his retribution. Animals accustomed to vampires will hide or threaten to attack defensively, those trained to attack vampires will be waiting for any excuse to initiate a brutal assault.
  • High Class: At this level small animals, non-agressive prey, and most domestic animals will not be caught being stuck in his presence and may seek to harm themselves to get away from him. Those that have no means to escape will wildly cause a ruckus until he has gone. Dogs, or domestic animals such as cats, horses, cattle ect who are in a position to need to protect what is theirs ( territory or mate ) will lunge and threaten attack. They may back down if pressed, but Antilles should be wary, a wrong move will have it backfire on him. Aggressive prey or large predators will not tolerate his presence in their territory and will do what they can to drive him away, with predators looking for opportunities to 'hunt' him along the way. Animals conditioned to attack vampires will require the full attention and will of their handlers to prevent attack attempts.
•  "Show them your hand":
  
  His power, Vampiric Glamour, can be sensed by some vampires who are not susceptible to his power itself. This means that he can easily be identified as a threat to the will of subservient vampires by their masters, and the potential for him being a threat in the future is likely to be recognized, especially by the more knowledgeable clan leaders and Kaisers who may know of Vesperes and his bloodline. (this weakness lessens as he advances )

Personality:

reserved, suspicious, intolerant, loyal (when it's earned), ambitious, patient, vengeful (potentially), proud, fearless, respectful (when warranted)

Antilles has had to live much of his life being something he does not feel that he is. Still, despite having spent his young life as a slave, he maintained a certain sense of pride and confidence in who he is.  This hasn't left him much room for experiences in relating to others, however, as he was often isolated socially from those in his former clan.  He doesn't look down on himself, but at the same time has become accustomed to his life as a slave, and sometimes can't help but continue to build his expectations and his reactions around that default premise.   Antilles tends to think logically about many aspects of clan life in general, and despite having grown up under the care of a clanmaster that socially neglected, and often mistreated him, he does recognize the injustice and poor leadership such behavior displays.  While he may seem vengeful, and calculating, it has only thus far been noted in regards to the arranged death of his mother and his own mistreatment over the years, so it is not yet clear if this is a true part of his personality, or a response to extreme events in his life.  Regardless, trust does not come easy to him, but once it is earned, Antilles is quick to demonstrate a fierce loyalty towards the individual.

Familial Relations

• Dyisis Anastas: Mother (Deceased) 
  
  The only family member he had contact with in his early life, Antilles was very close to his mother. It was always very important to him that he please her and see her happy, and so he did what he could to make that happen.  When she was killed (presumably) his world was changed, and he never really got the opportunity to properly mourn his loss of her.  He has sworn revenge on the man responsible, his former clanmaster, who also guilty of various crimes against Antilles himself. 
  
  
• Vesperes Van Hasselt: Father
  
  He knows nothing of Vesperes directly, only what he has heard. His mother has never spoken ill of the Kaiser directly, and often would tell him about the man's good qualities as a Kaiser.  Antilles could never bring himself to admit he had his doubts on that score for a few different reasons.  Unfortunately, isolation in his former clan saw to it that after his mother died much of his information came from his former Clanmaster.  From that point on he has heard a great deal about viciousness, cruelty, vanity and various other unflattering characteristics that may or may not be true.  He never really put much energy into caring, as the man or his title as 'father' have yet to mean anything to him.  Recently a greater opportunity has come for him to learn more about his father, but Antilles is a bit unsure on how he feels about it.

Certainly being surprised in such manner by a long lost family member is a bit unnerving, given Antilles background.  Still, he doesn't feel any need to fear this man. So if there is to be further contact between them, he is alright with seeing how things play out.

Backstory

It isn't uncommon for some clans, even entire districts to be run in a manner that holds ancient bloodlines in high esteem, these bloodlines, once containing what was considered vampiric royalty originate from the old world, and usually were often formed around the existence within that line of certain exclusive tributes or abilities that other vampiric lines, and turned vampires were incapable of developing. As it were, a neighboring district, from which Antilles hails, is run by an ancient of just such caliber. He, like any in a prestigious, or established bloodline finds great value in observing many of the old traditions, and in preserving the more value bloodlines carefully. The systems in place to do so are the reason for Antilles' existence.

One practice in this district is for the more prominent lines to regularly offer kin to one another in order to continue their line successfully, an especially essential process for Vesperes, the a fore mentioned Kaiser, as the abilities exclusive to his bloodline are only passed on very sparingly, and, to his knowledge, to this day he has no surviving descendants that have proven to have the abilities (as he remains unaware of Antilles' existence). The woman that was sent to him was, as is practical for a clan member of standing, accompanied by a servant capable of seeing to her comfort as well as her protection.
Dyisis, an elder in her own right, was a servant completely and unshakably loyal to her clan, to her master, and to her charge. Though servant in her clan, she had achieved High Class, but being born of a line that had been carefully bred for servitude when humans were too few or too difficult to maintain, it was not for her to consider advancement; nor, for that matter, for her to dream what was to come of her journey with the kin of her clan master.
It was custom for the host to see to the need of his guest; as such, it was never intended that Dyisis should linger long, but as hours would see the stars fading from the skies, she would remain the one day before preparing for her journey. It was then that she encountered him; oh she knew full well who Vesperes was, so imagine her surprise when he paused in his walk through his halls to beckon her to come forth and accompany him.

Vesperes' own mind had been on the task at hand. It was true he wished to have an heir, and conventional wisdom said he was most likely to succeed by bedding a woman who had a level of greatness in her own right. This didn't mean he had to like it. Vesperes was not accustomed to bed partners who arrived under the premise that they were doing -him - a favor. The attitude was most disconcerting, and while he could have brushed such mannerism's from the girls mind with hardly the bat of an eyelash, the Kaiser found he was not in the mood to have his bed occupied by one he had to glamour to make the way of things understood. How convenient then, that here was a lovely soft womanly form that was instantly receptive to his favor.

Basic History

Early Clan Life

She certainly hadn't expected anything to come of that single encounter. Perhaps she was in denial at first, not wishing to face her clan leader Seton. Surely he would have been displeased by the fact that she, a servant, carried the progeny of their Kaiser, and then there was the Kaiser himself. Vesperes was known to be generous with his pleasure, quick to treat those he had found special favor in, for those who took exception, he was more than willing to use his glamour just to make it clear who decided how things would proceed, but even with that ability looming over the heads of those that might displease him, he was still known to be capable of acts of cruelty beyond reason, rare though they were. No, she was certain it was best for her to play it off, servants had children among themselves from time to time without attachment, besides, as the life within her stirred, and decided that, much like its father, all the world would cater to what he though would be so, his kicks and flopping about had Dyisis unable to help but feel that same swelling of care and devotion she had poured into serving her master, his family. She couldn't just offer it up to be returned to the Kaiser as his own child.

Antilles was taught from a very early age that he was to be respectful, and that he should bring honor to his master's home. Furthermore, the clan leader, their master, all those they served were worthy of unquestioning devotion. It hardly seemed right to the child that his mother served young vampires who hadn't a portion of the talent that she herself did, but she was pleased with her life and her position, loving nothing more, except Antilles himself. With him she could never lie as he looked up at her with the same completeness of trust that she herself felt towards her master, so it even early on Antilles knew the truth of his origin, and that he was not to tell anyone who his father was, that it was not a matter of discussion, and really what did he care? This "father" thing was far away, he had never seen it, nor did it seem he ever would see it. "Kaiser", in the mind of any young vampire was a creature that almost seemed mythical, some great power they had never seen, and besides, much of what was said about his "father" did little to encourage a boy to think he would be considered to have value.

Gaining on his eighth year was the first time it happened. One of the children of higher standing thought it would be amusing to take something of his. Now in truth, Antilles was far from placid and would have loved to tear the smug brat's face off and offer it to the wild pigs, but instead he prepared to endure his loss, glaring harder than he should have and just willing to just shove the darn thing right in his own eye. The other boy, who had taken to making irritating teasing sounds then got a strange look in his eye, and may he be ever grateful that Antilles was still to young to will too great a harm or specific consequence be found, as sure enough after following the subtle glance with the goofiest smile Antilles had ever seen, shoved the toy he had pilfered right in. The action startled Antilles to say the least, and then again when the boy in a delayed fashion too to bawling and running off, as if he hadn't noticed until those moments later than something had occurred.

Fortune, it seemed favored Antilles. His mother was an elder, and such, he had only had a night of wandering about trying to figure this matter out, and seeing if maybe he could try to get other children to do other things, preferably more beneficial to him them poking their own eyes out before someone figured out exactly what was going on, and that that someone was her mother. He certainly was neither old enough, nor skilled enough to use any ability against one such as her, and though the younger members of the clan remained blissfully unaware, she could perceive in him the beginning of this power... a power that only could come from Vesperes himself.

Four years, four irritating years of keeping his eyes downcast when higher standing or older vampires were around, and Antilles was more disgruntled than anything. Many children would have broken by this, and by the treatment that followed so submissive a behavior, but not him, in stark contradiction to his ever averting gaze, Antilles would hold his head high, and walk proudly, though he were only a servant. This earned him no favor in the eyes of his betters, but he was young, and it was a bit difficult to justify a not yet pubescent boy for walking in a manner, especially as his words and other mannerisms were always as they should be. He wouldn't have thought that matters could have bothered him more, in that naive way that the young have in believing that no terrible thing could happen to them.

As he sat in the clan leader's office one day, plucking away at harp strings, in a soothing melody, that was meant to calm the listener's mind while lightening the heart, he paid little mind to what the master himself was doing. When a stack of texts was bumped and came crashing down, he jumped, fingers pull up away from the strings, as his wide eyes shot up towards the sound. The Seton wasn't much slower, eyes quick to seek out the boy. It wouldn't do for him to get distracted, even if something surprised him, after all, if this had been before guests, or during some clan function... That's when he felt it, the strange sense, as his gaze met the boys, he could feel a slight tug on his mind, not substantial enough to be intentional, but it was enough; he had known that power in better force before, when the Kaiser himself had directed it at him.

Pacing slowly, Antilles waited, picking a little at his clothing as he did. He couldn't imagine why the clan lead had nearly put his head through a wall, before lunging him out into the hallway and telling there he would remain. It might not have seemed so odd, but then the elder vampire left his office, looking quite ready to string a couple members up by their intestinal track. Where could he be going? The answer, though not specific, was never going to be one that he could make peace with. His mother was gone, she had been sent away?

Life of Slavery

With his mother gone, and himself to young to fit the role of an actual servant (for servants are afforded rights), Antilles found himself cast into the lot of slave, and was on more than one occasion told he had best be grateful he had a set of fangs about him, or he would have been far more suited to rut around in filth with the human cattle. The very thought of it made Antilles, a pure blood squirm and feel physically ill. It might not have been so bad, if he had just been a slave, but the clan leader, Seton, could not leave him to his own devices, no, he had to keep Antilles firmly under his thumb.



...Vesperes... well if he found out there was no telling what fate would befall the clan leader, and he was not the only vampire of an age in the clan that might figure out what Antilles was. No, the boy could not be sent to the Kaiser, who would certainly dream up all new levels of torture and humiliation for the one that had kept his heir from him. Keeping him would be the better option, but not by much, it was like not cutting his own arm off now, just to wait for it to inevitably fall off on its own. Antilles was a true son of their Kaiser, he had his gift, and while for now it was a trivial trick to play on other children in time it would be more. In time even an ancient would be unable to resist bending to the boy's will, and then what? He would come and take the clan is what. All it would take was one of Vesperes' darker characteristics to have been passed to the boy, his ambition, his sense of superiority, the joy he found in being able to remind those who stood against him that he held the power to make their own hearts and minds turn against them... a thirst to take revenge on those who wronged him and a memory that ensured no slight was let go without it having been meant to. Any one of those, and the boy would overthrow him, possibly with the same level of cruelty his father was capable of. Killing the boy had it's risks, there were laws about just killing young vampires off, and besides he had already lost one nearly priceless servant to this whole mess, albeit the fact that it was her fault rather than his own. He'd be damned if he didn't come out ahead in some fashion from all this. Antilles was still young, the solution was clear, beat down the boy, crush his will and squash any thought of ambition until he could find a more profitable way to get rid of him. After all, if nothing else he was a pretty thing, surely he could at least be sold to pleasure some vampire... or if he could get away with it, some human, whose taste ran in that direction... Yes, he would keep the boy, until he could stand to make something back from him, and get him, at the very least out of the district, away from his own clan, and away from possibly being discovered by his sire.

Antilles was hardly one to so easily crack under pressure. He had lost a mother that had loved him more than life itself, and he in turn had loved her with equal fervor. Whether it was for good or ill though, he had come to a realization that he was certain his mother was dead. Whether the clan leader had killed her himself, or if he had sent her somewhere he knew she would not come back from he couldn't say, and it hardly mattered. Time was the only enemy he could concern himself with for now, and even as he had grown, years of ridicule, beatings, menial tasks, and discouragement from any social, emotional or especially intimate contact with the rest of his clan, saw a hardened, cautious 35 year old vampire. Still, broken he was not; he knew in time he would be able to turn on his master, and at what point he would decide the other had sufficiently repaid the ever mounting debt he planned to tear from the elder vampire's hide, Antilles couldn't begin to guess at.
This was not an animosity or determination that had sprung up overnight, it had festered beneath the surface, building and poisoning all that surrounded it, until it consumed every bit of healthy, viable passion or thought the vampire might have had... and yet, Antilles knew he was still in control. He couldn't know just how much he was his father, for it took a special sort of man to harbor such darkness without truly being taken by it, but considering his nature was hardly a matter for concern, as it had always been through his physical childhood, this thing known as "father" had no meaning, and it never would have occurred to him to listen more closely to rumors spoken about Vesperes, or to ask questions when his master's eye wavered in its vigilance. He didn't know or care what this man would think about what had happened to him, perhaps he would be pleased to find him, perhaps he would kill him as competition, or perhaps he wouldn't care, but would wish to go after the Seton for killing his one time lover, or denying him his child. Well, Antilles had no desire to risk that, Seton was -his - to deal with, not some haughty smug bastard who only had known his mother for one night in her life.

These were the thoughts he had been entertaining, when his master returned. It had been pleasant to be rid of the man, not that he hadn't had matters to attend to in his absence, but it had been a nice break to do so without constant threat of punishment if he so much as dared to look at a girl to long, or mumbled something;beneath his breath when he had not been asked to speak. In retrospect, he should have paid closer mind to the destination. His clan leader had done something quite unusual, he had gone out to another district. Greetings were not offered before Antilles was made to know why his master had gone... apparently he was to be taken to a new clan, some clan leader by the name of "Zeo DiPaolo" had purchased him. Whether this would be welcome news or not, Antilles would not yet venture a guess; one such as himself did not get his hopes up, and yet one such as himself also did not give in to the despair as if it were some inevitable force either. No, this changed little in his mind. Even if this new master treated him much the same, at least he would be away from the man that had killed his mother and made him a slave, if he were kinder than so much sweeter would the break be. He hardly had to consider his plans for revenge concluded, it was likely to be a long time before he was powerful enough to conclude his business with Seton, even by the reckoning of vampires. If he were truly fortunate in the matter he might even procure his own freedom completely, with a name like "Zeo" the man was likely to be either a very old vampire... or a very young one; if it was the latter, he would be putty in Antilles' hands... if not, well Antilles had been brought up the faithful, loyal servant before his mother had been taken from him; if not for the fact that she had lost her life by the will of the very clan leader he was expected to swear loyalty to, he might have accepted that role in life. Surely, he could bare to take on such a life for this new man, until the time came for him to enact his revenge.

Antilles isn't entirely sure what to make of him yet, but he doesn't seem dangerous.  In any case, Antilles finds himself a bit more interested in what this ancient vampire has to say on the subject of his family than he would have thought.  Maybe he won't be so bad, so long as Zeo thinks it's a good idea for him to come around, Antilles isn't about to object. 

Little River

• Zeo's right hand vampire.  He can't be too sure, but Antilles suspects she may have a bit of a problem with him.  Certainly her 'pets' do. In any case, it seems the best bet for him is to lay low around this woman, and to try not to provoke her anymore than he inadvertently seems to have. 

Natascha Dragomir

• His personal guard. He doesn't really have a problem with her per say, even if he is a bit uneasy about this guard business.  Still, he can hardly object to it, or her for that matter, not when it means so much to Zeo.  Maybe once he gets to know her a bit more, it won't be so bad.  

Zeo DiPaulo

• This new Clanmaster is so unusual to him.  Master Zeo seems genuinely interested in his well being, and wants to spend time around him it would seem.  In any event, he's not about to trust in this kindness being displayed towards him, but at the same time, Antilles doesn't feel a need to necessarily doubt or being suspicious of the ancient in general.  Time will tell he supposes. 
  
  
• As if getting physically involved with the clanmaster wasn't enough, the other's deeper interests in him have become increasingly apparent to the Initiate.  Not sure what to do with this sort of thing, he has decided to simply follow Zeo's lead, and see what comes of it.  Certainly he has to admit, he does rather enjoy spending time with the clanmaster, and serving as his personal assistant is a job that the former slave finds particularly enjoyable.

[Antilles (Van Hasselt)]

Current (On Site) History

• He arrived in District 3 after a long, and rather uncomfortable transport, not that he thought much one way or the other about the way he was shipped off to his new owner.  His new Clanmaster, Zeo DiPaulo, quickly established himself to be a far kinder, and fairer minded master than his last one, and insisted that Antilles consider himself an Initiate of the clan, rather than the slave he had been previously made.  Master Zeo's concerns over him, however, and quickly been shown to be more than just that of a Clanmaster to his Clanmate.  There is a definite and strong attraction between them, one that, from what Antilles can see, is meant to become something far more intimate than the ancient introducing to the pleasure of physical intimacy. 
  
  
• Antilles was made Master Zeo's personal assistant, and has been given the tasks of keeping close mind to the other's schedule and appointments, as well as assuming the role of contacting the majority of the other's business contacts to set up meetings and other such matters.  He'd been a bit unsure of this position, especially as his experience with technology was quite limited.  However, Antilles proved himself to be a quick study under Zeo's instruction, and now takes a great deal of pride from the efficiency and dedication he pours into his working for the Clanmaster. Not that he has said anything, but he does enjoy going out with the other when Zeo visits is various establishments for business purposes.  
  
  
• Apparently his good fortune cannot last indefinitely. It would seem that something unfortunate has happened to the former Kaiser of the district. That, of course, isn't really a concern to him in and of itself, but for whatever reason, Vespers Van Hasselt has moved in to take control of the district.  This means going back to worrying about being discovered, he supposes, though now he has much more personal things at stake here.  The idea of Zeo baring the blame for his past is most distressing to him. 
  Being assigned a personal guard was hardly any more enjoyable for the Initiate; however, Zeo's need for it won over his indignation, and he finds, for the sake of the Clanmaster he is developing an almost frightening attachment towards, he can accept the new way of things without being too displeased about it.
  
  
• The arrival of his father has proven not to be the only problem with his family he would have.  Seemingly out of no where, a man by the name of Klaus Brauer, who apparently is called 'Onkel' by the half siblings he has just been informed of, showed up to meet with him.  So, apparently he has siblings, something he wouldn't have thought would interest him to know in the slightest has become a matter of moderate curiosity.  As for the father in question, well this Klaus guy didn't seem to be deceptive, and certainly came across as trustworthy; he suggests Vesperes is not quite the man that Antilles has been lead to believe.  It's a lot to absorb, and for now just a bit overwhelming, so he's put it on the back burner to give himself some time to digest this matter.
