Abilites:
1. Emperor's Charm (bloodline specific)
Klaus' dominant energies entice beings of any other race into becoming entanced by his power, and inclined to submit to his command. At his advanced age, Klaus is able to control this ability, able to increase his influence in those within the area of a large room (a wider area for individuals already inclined to obey him, whether by dispossition, weakness, or resepect for his status ), and can focus that influence on individuals for a more potent and direct result. While Klaus is capable of toning down his Emperor's Charm considerably, hints of it are always given off in his closer social and intimate space.
2. Mortalis (bloodline specific)
With this ability, Klaus can place a vampire in a mortal, powerless human state of existence - thus stripping away all vampiric capabilities. This can be fully reversed by being bitten and 'turned' once more, though it may take a few times of being 'turned' for it to actually happen. It was believed to be a 'dead' ability for a very long time until it surfaced in Klaus...but given as his only progeny was Turned, it was thought that the power would eventually die out again. Until that comforting thought was put to rest, that is, when Gunnar showed signs of not only developing this power but quickly mastering it as well.
3. Call of the Black Eagle (regional - Prussia/Germany)
Being in combat heightens his abilities such as reflexes, precision, and focus. No matter the level of emotion, with a duel or battle to be won, he slips into a mindset that knows nothing but the hunger to see his enemies fall and the calling to follow his commander's orders (when applicable ). When the commander, his perception and attention to detail are honed, and the ordering and care of his troops may temper the otherwise single minded focus.
4. Eyes of Osiris (inherited - personal history)
A power once exclusive to the Black Moon Ancient Eygptian Amun. When Klaus, a young vampire killed the terror with the help of his cousin, he drank from the anicent to absort his power. Osiris, Egyptian god of the dead and the underworld, granted Amun the power to 'see' the presence of all vampires within his immediate vicinity, especially those in the heat of battle. This allowed Amun the ability to sense and instinctively plot the movements of his enemies regardless of the angle they approached from, and whether his other senses would be able to detect them. His downfall came at the hands of his own kind, as other vampires of the Black Moon are immune to the ability, but also able to direct it towards them if they command his fury, focusing the entire ability on the offending Black Moon vampire. This power now resides within Klaus.
5. Unified Stance (inherited - familial)
The ties of familial bonds are strong. When in the presence of born kin of any degree, turned kin of the immediate family or with whom there has been prolonged contact with and/or particularly close lovers or mates , the weaknesses related to physical needs and limits are lessened. This does not mean the vampire's weaknesses are lessened, but rather things like fatigue from activity, pain from injury, muddling of the mind and body do to hunger are undone proportionally to the number of applicable individual present, and the strength of the bonds among them.
Skills:
1. Weapons Master
While his expertise does not shift into the territory of nuclear warfare, Klaus knows how to use guns, blades - weapons from times gone by and weapons of today. Not only does he know how to use them, but he uses them frequently and is in possession of quite a few - and though some might be considered war-age antiques, rest assured. He keeps all his weapons in the best of conditions.
2. Horsemanship
He comes from a day when motors did not rule the world and having a good mount was essential. Not only is he able to ride with all the expertise of one who is well practiced at doing so, but he also is an excellent judge of horseflesh.

Klaus's 'gift' for planning and strategizing has long been reknowned - and though he doesn't often indulge in physical war games any more, Klaus still makes use of this skill in other ways.

He knows how the game is played, and does play it - to a point.

2. Absolute Power...
When faced with complete submission, especially from an individual that would otherwise exhibit dominant tenancies, Klaus' well honed discipline and self control have little meaning. This leaves him susceptible to suggestion, and hinders his ability to consider the scenario at hand from a strategic stand point, and fills Klaus with a distinct desire to claim the individual that so willingly offers his or herself to him. The more dominant minded or independent an individual usually is, the stronger this desire will hit him, slaves and other such lowly individuals have no effect.
3. Blond males of Germanic descent
He'd like to blame the 'bred blood'...but he's certain it's something else that ensures that he is drawn to pretty, fair-haired males of dominant personality. There is something exceptionally pleasing about acquiring their complete submission. More so than acquiring it from a pretty girl or woman.
4. Soft Spot (children)
He just can not bring himself to harm a child - whether it's born vampiric, dhampir, or human. This is likely due to some part of his personal history - he doesn't expect questions on it, just that it be accepted as such. Because of this soft spot, he's more inclined to leniency when it comes to those that have young children to care for still. If it comes down to it, though, and he feels a child needs to be stopped from being born (ie: a dhampir child fathered on a human woman) - he will have no problems killing the mother and therefore, by proxy, killing the child inside of her.
