* Note: He has several scars from sunlight on the backs of his hands, on his arms, on his legs and one really bad one across the base of his neck. His back is also riddled with scars, except these are a bit more clear what they are from -holy water and blessed crucifixes.
Abilities:
1. ArachnoMotion ~ With this ability, Zory can climb up walls, cling to ceilings, and crawl up the sides of buildings.
2. Mimic ~ This power allows Zory to perfectly mimic the voices of others, regardless of their gender or age.
3. Gravitational Force ~ With this power, Zory can use gravity itself to either physically crush you or lift you off of the ground and hold you in place mid-air.
Skills:
1. Bilingual - Though it is his first instinct and though to speak in his beloved, native Russian, Zory /does/ speak acceptable, if a little bit broken, English as well. One just needs to remind him occasionally to speak it.
2. Stamina - As a person who's sole purpose in life was to labor for others for a very long time, Zory has built up a certain level of tolerance to the strain that such a thing can put on one's body - even beyond that of a typical vampire's level of tolerance.
Weaknesses
Standard weaknesses as per site rules for vampires
1. Slave Mentality ~ Once a slave, always a slave - at least according to Zory. While he is capable of thinking his own thoughts, he's had too long in the life of a slave to risk simply voicing them - as such, he does what he is told...when he is told to do it. He asks no questions. This kind of mindless obedience is likely not befitting a vampire of his rank and also makes him difficult to get to know on a personal level.
2. Illiterate ~ Zory is unable to read or write - in any language. As such, if there are to be instructions given, they must be spoken as otherwise Zory will not understand.
3. Holy Items ~ Things like crucifixes and holy water not only keep him at bay, but can actually physically burn him.
((More will come as I think of them))
Personality:
Taciturn, Coarse , Shy (conditionally) , Blunt-spoken, Honest, Occasionally Unstable, Feral
Brief History:
Zory was made by two vampires that he knew only as 'Master' and 'Mistress' - taken from his childhood home when he was but a boy of eleven and turned into a vampire only as a means to an end. After all, he was hardly of any real use to them as a mortal slave. He was far too fragile as a human...and well, there was the matter of food to consider. So really, turning him - even at such a young age - was really quite to their benefit. Of course, that didn't make them any more inclined to treat him kindly. In fact, it only seemed to inspire worse behavior - keeping him chained up in the cellar of their home like he was little better than some animal.
He was given 'leftovers' of their own meals...leftovers which he often ended up just killing outright as by the time they came to him he was so hungry that it wouldn't have even mattered if it was dead blood that he was drinking. And often times, he was chained up in such a way that exposure to the sun was not entirely avoidable - and as a result he has several scars on the backs of his hands, on his legs, and one along the base of his neck where a particularly nasty beam of light managed to catch him.
Day in and day out, his existence was the same. Work, sleep as best he could and then work some more - until one day, the unusual happened. They forgot to chain him up. And after waiting only a few moments...he took his chance and ran. As it happened, he only managed to remain on the lam for a few weeks, but those few weeks were the best of his sad little life. Soon enough though, he found himself back in chains - and brutally punished for his defection. So harsh was the punishment that it didn't see him wanting to try and run again.
It wasn't until the second world war that things would start to change for little Zory...the boy being allowed a bit more freedom as his master and mistress moved from one home to the next, claiming newer more lavish territory for themselves. It was sometime during this 'claiming' that Zory chanced to be wandering about in search of food - as hunting was a part of the duties he no longer even dreamed of shunning. It was during this 'hunt' that Zory soon found himself being violently pursued...and though Zory couldn't even begin to imagine the cause for it, he certainly knew well enough to run. And run he did - all the way until he somehow wound up on what looked to be some sort of large boat.
He remained there for weeks on end, hiding in it's basement - and as a vampire used to going without food, he managed to survive on pittance for blood, taking only the rats even though the blood was vile tasting in his mouth. When he did finally surface, it was to find himself very much in a new world. One that had him wandering wide-eyed for a bit before he eventually found himself resorting to old habits. He lived as one in hiding, skulking in dark alley ways and dark corners, taking what he could for himself and making apologies to no one. After living such a feral life, however, he soon found himself pursued...though this time he didn't choose to run. Why one who felt as powerful as Sarin did would pursue him, well, he couldn't say...but when he was eventually discovered, it was perhaps much to his personal surprise that he was not punished or yelled at. Rather he was offered a place in her house...and in exchange for his room and board, he would be in her service.
There were worse things that a mongrel slave in a new world could do than trade his life for a warm bed that was out of the sun's harmful rays, and though he had taken a day to think it over - he knew there wasn't much for it. It was either serve her, or be forced out of a place that she considered her territory...so he chose the easier way and put himself into willing slavery. And through those years of servitude, he somehow managed to curry enough favor to see him elevated to the position of Elite Protector - and though he has no understanding of 'rank' or 'power' in regards to his own person, he understands the job he has been given. And it is a job he takes quite seriously indeed.
