Name: Margaret "Maggie" MacCailin
Age: 24
Apartment Number: 2 A
Occupation: Part time waitress/go go dancer at Club Synful , Part time cashier/barista at The Green Bean - an organic coffee house and used book store in the Mall, and Part Time student at the local community college - currently without major..
Appearance:
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 110 lbs
Hair: Reddish brown with hints of caramel
Eyes: Gray - but like a feline's eyes they are reflective at night and have elliptical pupils. She usually wears contacts to mask the pupils, but they do little to dim the reflective quality.
Build: Petite and diminutive in stature with proportionate curves and a daintiness about her that makes her appear almost fragile.
Alternate Form :
Abilities:
1. Partial Shift At Will - Maggie can partially shift at will, meaning she has access to the teeth and claws that she would normally only have access to when shifted completely - and has this access while still in human form.
Standard Lycanthrope abilities as per site
Skills:
1. Control - Since Maggie's been shifting since she was young, she can control the shift enough to not give in to it every time she feels the urge. Sometimes, the urge to shift is still too powerful for her to resist, but generally she can get to a safe place to shift without 'outing' herself as a lycan.
2. Balance - Whether this is because she spent so much time in her lycan form, or simply because she's blessed with an almost unnatural grace - Maggie has exceptionally good balance.
3.Latte Artiste - She can quite skillfully make those little pictures in a person's latte with the foam. It's not much of a skill, but one working as a barista requires.
4. Hooping - Slang for hula-hooping, this might seem like an odd skill to have, but being a go-go dancer at Club Synful sometimes requires her to use this skill to artistic advantage.
Weaknesses:
1. Slow Healer - Despite the fact that all lycanthropes typically heal at an accelerated rate, Maggie instead heals at a rate that is as slow as a normal human's.
Standard weaknesses per site for lycanthropes.
Personality:
Cautiously friendly, Warm, Sweet, Flirty (appropriately), Coy, sometimes she can be a bit of a tease, but it's all in good fun, Shy (at times ), Uncertain (at times), Reserved (at first), Trustworthy, Honest, Good Listener.
Brief History:
Maggie had the misfortune to be born the only child of two scientists who's sole purpose for reproduction was for the child to serve as a human means of experimentation. Irene and Bryce MacCailin were two scientists working for a well-known pharmaceutical company and they were charged with one single task - to seek out a means to create a vaccine for the lycanthropy virus. The virus was still relatively new, so there was hope - however, the MacCailins did run into trouble when they realized that testing on their animal subjects wasn't an adequate means of discovery.
Rather than worry about things like morals and decency, they raised Maggie as any normal child would be raised. For the first seven years of her life, Maggie had a normal and well-adjusted childhood. On her eighth birthday, however, her parents switched personalities - turning from loving caregivers into the analytical scientists they truly were. That was the year they began the purposeful injections of small, seemingly insignificant amounts of the lycanthropy virus into their daughter. They discovered that in such small amounts, the virus remained dormant - and they also discovered that just because it lay dormant didn't mean that with each injection the virus wouldn't accumulate.
History Continued
After a year of these sporadic, small injections - Maggie MacCailin the human was no more, shifting rather unexpectedly during a full moon - three days after her ninth birthday. All of this was done, of course, under her parents' supervision...and they kept at this sort of treatment until they eventually discovered that there was no adequate cure or vaccine for the virus to be derived from her infected blood. Still, they kept at their experiments, seeking an alternate course - that of medicinally controlling the virus. However, it soon became apparent that 'control' only meant that it forced Maggie's human side to be dormant - thus keeping her trapped in her lycanthrope form.
Her parents kept her in hiding, hoping that eventually they would actually manage to find a better means of control - and one that wouldn't force the girl's human side to remain dormant but rather the reverse. For nine years, Maggie remained controlled in this way - allowed only out of this state for daily sessions of home schooling as her parents hardly wished to deny her education. These breaks, however, didn't amount to much and the damage had been done. Maggie was marked as a lycanthrope by the set of her pupils and the oddly reflective quality to those calm grey eyes.
History Continued:
For several years she remained beneath her parents' watchful eye, until finally - on her seventeenth birthday - Maggie decreed that she'd had enough. Now she was not a person prone to violence, but she'd had plenty of time to harness enough anger towards these people who treated her as little more than a test dummy. They came to give her the medication, as was the usual routine, and this time Maggie fought - fingers shifting into long, razor-sharp claws and canines elongating and sharpening. She attacked, and while she didn't kill, she certainly injured them enough to frighten them into allowing Maggie to leave.
And leave she did, living as a gypsy would for years and never staying in one place for long. She worked odd jobs to get by and found that despite the fact that she'd lived for years beneath her biological parents' thumbs, she had a knack for getting by on her own. She arrived in District 3 in hopes of finding a place to finally settle down about a year ago, and during that time has secured two part time jobs to pay her way through life while also managing to register herself as a student at a local community college with the hopes of earning a degree of some sort with which to actually gain a career from.
