While it had pleased him that Onkel Klaus had decided to go see their Vati, Kristian certainly had felt a bit saddened by the older vampire leaving. It was always that way for Kristian, he loved his family members and preferred them close, and Klaus, well there was no denying the fact that this particular family member was favored by them all. With an absent smile, he resisted the urge to swing his younger, but larger brother's hand. Volker was always a bit stiff about holding hands, but Kristian knew well enough it was due to the odd need his brother had to project himself as undeniably masculine, as 'in control' and unaffected by the softer emotions as possible. This, of course, have never fooled Kristian not for a minute. As he was asked if he was sure he had everything, and not for the first time, he offered only his warm, patient smile, and affirming that yes, everything was well. It was best to leave the assurance that Volker didn't need to worry over him unsaid, allowing it to remain between them and subtle so as not to make Volker consider the possibility that his concerns were unwelcome. He really could be such a sensitive boy, despite what his serious sibling usually presented others with.
For his part, Kristian was pleased and excited. At Volker's 'suggestion', they were going to take the long flight back to America. It seemed like it had been forever since they had seen their Vati, though Kristian likely would have thought so, even if it had only been a week ago, rather than the months since their last 'visit'. It was hard to call it a visit, as whether they were in America with Vati, or Germany with Onkel Klaus, it was really just going home. Offering a friendly smile to a flight attendant in passing, he settled in to his seat, situating himself first, as it was Volker's preference to be between him and the cabin full of strangers. His 'little' brother really was adorable. With a pleased little sigh, he allowed his mind to drift a bit; they were going to see Onkel Klaus and Vati in the new district he had moved to. While he would miss his other siblings that remained behind in Germany; there was something wonderful about being able to see Onkel and Vati, especially since it was no great secret that there was more between them than the semi-distant familial bonds shared by second cousins. Besides, as he reflected with just a touch of concern, Vati was no doubt feeling unsettled. He had left a place among his Prussians, his Germans, and his other people in District One to go to some new District. It would be good for Vati to have some of his family around to help him settle. Something must have happened for Vesperes to leave, that much he knew without question. Yes, it was good that they were going back to America. So, he waited for the flight to take off, once they were in the air and seat belts could be removed, he would settle in more comfortably, and use Volker's shoulder to rest his head, once more to be inwardly amused by the subtle display of merely tolerating such displays of trust and affection... adorable.

Clan Relations:
In general, Kristian is friendly, and sweet with any clan member. He tends to concern himself with the problems of others, and likes to offer assistance when possible, even if it is only a generically supportive thing. While he does try to help where needed with any clanmember, he does show preference towards those he is most loyal to. With those of higher rank, he is obedient, though not blindly so. Still, even while being respectful and serious, he will maintain his gentle demeanor. With those of equal rank, he tends to approach tasks from a collaborative angle, only completely deferring or completely dominating a matter when it is clear the respective party has a great deal more skill than the other, and the other has little to no knowledge or skill related to the matter at hand. His tenancy otherwise is to deffer slightly, and in any event, unless pressed to do so, he tends to make suggestions rather than ordering them around. With subordinates, he also tends to make suggestions, but doesn't hesitate to make them in such a way it's understood that he expects to be obeyed. However if pressed by urgency, potential danger to someone concerned, or by another wise disobedient subordinate he can channel the sterner, more commanding approach of his Prussian father.

Occupation:
To be decided (will consult with Zeo)
(Every character must have at least two weaknesses in ADDITION to the ones that are standard weaknesses as according to site dictation. We do encourage you to, of course, add more. )
The second born of Prussian Royal Vesperes Van Hasselt, and his first son, Kristian has always had a sense of security in who and what he is. During his early childhood, there was some issue with his family recognizing his tenancies for what they were; as such, until about the age of eight, his father's displays of affection and expectations for his behavior was more inline with traditional 'masculine' perspectives. Fortunately, Kristian was always a sweet and patient boy, and didn't suffer much for his father's period of needing to get him. Similarly, it took awhile for his older sister, who was very much the rough and tumble sort, to really get that Kristian didn't find such things to be fun. Still, his family's hearts' were in the right place, and thankfully, Vesperes' affection for his children, negated any potential for him to respond poorly to Kristian's ways, even when he hadn't quite gotten it yet.
For Kristian, the arrival of each new sibling was a wonderful thing, well once he was old enough to formulate a real opinion on the matter. However, while he got along well with most of them (though Renate was a bit too rough, and the twins just a bit too distent), the real challenge came with the youngest brother he was raised with. Kristian remembered very clearly his father's distress and concerns when Volker's mother had gotten 'hurt' (though he never did know what had happened exactly). During this time, he made a point to be close to his Vati, hoping to help him feel better. It had come as a real relief when all appeared to be well, and from what they could figure, only resulted in a somewhat early birth. It didn't take long for Volker to make it obvious just how different from the others he would be. Kristian had heard crying babies before, alerting, but usually not too upsetting (as long as one didn't panic or feel clueless about what should be done), and actually not as quick to grate on ones nerves. Volker though, he rarely cried, no, he seemed to scream his little head off, except when their Vati held him, which was never often or long enough for his baby brother's liking. Vesperes took it in stride, while making sure not to neglect his older children just because his youngest was more intense. His other siblings though didn't really care much for the new baby, and Kristian, despite his previous experience, couldn't help but be upset by the sorts of noises Volker made. Still, despite this, it took Vesperes telling him to go off and play, that things would be fine, to actually pry the upset boy from Volker's side. He just wanted so much to make his little brother feel better and be happy.... but the baby seemed to refuse, and that set the tone of their relationship for quite some time.
There wasn't really much to note about the course of his life. Being the son of a loving and devoted father, who just so happened to be the Kaiser of a district in America tended to limit ones exposure to dangerous or damaging situations. Adding to that the fact that Kristian was, by nature, a happy boy who didn't tend to judge anyone (including himself) made for a pretty easy life. He did his studies and took his hobbies and interests seriously, as children tend to do. There was one exception to this childhood bliss. Being the second oldest usually meant not being picked on. Renate, his only older sibling had let up on him completely once she realized he didn't enjoy rough housing, Gisela was more interested in helping him look nice and proper than offering him any serious trouble, and the twins were the twins. Their plots usually took their mischief away from Kristian, and while not the cuddliest nor most open of family members, they were never unkind and seemed to enjoy his company. Then there was the exception. Volker had grown from a distressed baby to a distressed child, and quickly started giving in to displays of anger and frustration. Kristian knew he was stronger, knew he could have put the younger boy in his place, but the thought just never occurred to him to do so. He never wanted to hurt anyone, and he loved his little brother, but how the other could make him hurt. Physically, well, he knew well enough even considering the difference in their age, Volker wasn't strong enough to really do any damage. That was a fact he didn't voice though; he was observant enough to note just how much it really upset Volker when that was brought up by one of the others in anger. No, it wasn't a matter of phsycial hurt so much as it was emotional hurt.
For a long time he kept the matter to himself, not wanting to get Volker in trouble; especially seeing how much the idea of their Vati being disappointed in him troubled Volker. Yes, he had noticed that too. Fortunately though he found a confidant in their Onkel Klaus. During that period of time, when Kristian was old enough to go live with their Onkel (off and on) in Germany, but Volker was not yet old enough, Kristian took strength in the respite from his brother's mean and often abusive ways. It didn't take long for Kristian to feel he could trust Klaus with the things that troubled him, and more importantly, to understand that, as distressed as Volker could make him, it would be far worse to him if Vesperes was made too aware of things. Oh their Vati would not stop loving Volker... but sometimes Kristian wasn't so sure that Volker understood that. Onkel Klaus wasn't just good for giving troubles to though, he was also just wonderful to be around. Kristian had immediately taken too him (not unlike a certain other Van Hasselt, though Kristian didn't have it in him to be pointed or demanding ). Time in Germany was always just as wonderful as time at home with Vati, and Onkel Klaus was just as understanding of him. It was also in Germany that events happened that changed the way he and Volker related to one another.
Immediately there was some difference, though this was initially external. Klaus had gotten a measure of their relationship from Kristian himself, and similarly got more insight to Volker's behavior than their Vati did. Volker, unlike with Vati, initially started testing the waters with their Onkel, no doubt to see just what he could get away with. Klaus though was having none of it, and was quick to establish that Volker would not be bullying his siblings while the older vampire was around (though in fairness, other than himself and Geisela the others had gotten pretty proficient in dealing with Volker so he wouldn't go quite so far in irritating them ). What really changed things though was when they made a little trip to France. Onkel Klaus had allowed them to do a little exploring on their own, after all some of them were physically adult, and the others were of an independent enough age that they didn't have to hover around Klaus wherever they went.
Kristian, for his part, had been enjoying looking over a number of pretty things, and thinking of maybe finding a nice postcard to send to their Vati to tell him all about going to France with Onkel Klaus. What precisely had provoked the younger French vampire, he wasn't entirely sure. Maybe it had been what he was wearing, his accent, who was to say. Whatever the cause, Kristian found himself the recipient of hatred, real hatred, and insults and threats that were meant to seriously upset him. They certainly did that, as Kristian tried to slink off somewhere to compose himself, Volker had likely become bored and was heading in the direction he was likely to find a family member in. Even Volker's shock at seeming him shaken and crying didn't quite pull him out of the state he was in. What did though was his own shock once his younger brother zeroed in on the culprit. Now... the thing about Volker was, though he was likely weaker than the culprit, he was a master at intimidation. Even putting aside his size (as he was already nearly as tall as and noticeably larger than Kristian despite the five year difference in age) Volker could will himself to be menacing enough to make up for his physical lacking and then add to that fact that Volker was enraged. Sure he had seen his brother throw tantrums before when they'd been younger, or get in a snit and go off on a tirade, but he had never seen him in a state of fury that might just have tipped the strength factor in his favor. Volker, the brother that seemed bent on displaying his dislike of Kristian, and was often downright mean to him, was seriously ready eviscerate someone on his behalf, especially when the other dared to admit to some of the things he said... in that smug French sort of way that pointedly chose his own tongue just because he was certain the 'uncivilized German' wouldn't know it (which Volker didn't really, but that was beside the point). Fortunately, Klaus stepped in before Volker could try to rip out a side of the boy's neck with his fangs, and dealt with the matter in a more controlled fashion.
What solidified this change between them though came later. Volker had actually been avoiding him since the incident in France. What times they did encounter one another, his brother was visibly agitated, but remained begrudgingly silent about whatever was going on in his head. Kristian, himself, had had time to ponder this change in his brother, as well as the event that had triggered it. Then, it seemed like the old Volker was suddenly back with a vengeance. He dropped the insults and mean aspect of it though, focusing on trying to make Kristian mad it seems. At first, Kristian was a little confused. Did he really think he was going to make him as angry at him as he seemed to want. However, when he caught up with the matter, in truth he felt a certain sadness for Volker; his brother just seemed so... desperate to drive him away, but why that might be, he perhaps wasn't old enough to understand. Well despite what the other might have wanted, Kristian could only be Kristian, and in that spirit offered his brother his warm, patient smile. His assurances, or maybe it was more of a declaration, that Volker couldn't make Kristian hate him took it's turn for stunning the younger vampire into complacency. Things since that day quickly improved between them, and oddly enough, Volker seemed to, without words, declare himself Kristian's protector. Kristian, for his part, was more pleased by the way Volker started opening up to him more. He usually didn't actually say much, but Kristian was good at interpreting what a few words, the slightest change in a tone, and often most tellingly what Volker was doing with his body.
They have been close ever since, and happily enough, he has seen a change in his brother in regards to the rest of their family as well. Still, he is a bit concerned for his brother in quite a few matters; likely, this is why he feels he is needed at the other's side, just as much as Volker feels he needs to be there to protect him. It was hardly any surprise then, that when Volker decided he wanted to go back to America to see what ;Onkel and Vati were up to', because admitting he missed them just wouldn't do, he had wanted Kristian to come with. Kristian is more than happy to have agreed. It would be good to see Vati, and Onkel, and even better to see them together.

- Take this Favor:
When in the presence of vampires he has some connection (positive) to, Kristian bolsters the abilities of these vampires, and lessens the effects of their weaknesses (actual weaknesses, not to be confused with weaknesses related to physical need as described in the Unified Stance Ability). The power and reach of this effect is directly related to how strong the connection is to the respective vampire, and the need of the situation (i.e. when there is a stressor such as either himself or the others involed being in danger it has greater effect and reach ).

Weakness Points:
(Every character must have at least two weaknesses in ADDITION to the ones that are standard weaknesses as according to site dictation. We do encourage you to, of course, add more. )
- Standard Vampiric Weaknesses
- Sins of the Father: - Vesperes: Moonmadness types body and blood.
Kristian is affected by some of his father's weaknesses. In his particular case, the time it occurs is during a New or Full moon phase (and is stronger during a Blue or Black Moon). The specific weaknesses of Vesperes that Kristian is affected by are Vesperes' Moonmaness (body) and Moonmadness (blood). Unlike Vesperes, the weakness doesn't cause him excessive lusts that can lead to an overwhelming need if denied, but rather skips to a point where he is compelled (but not to the point where he can be psychologically distressed if denied, as Vesperes can work his way up to). During the full moon, Kristian is compelled to sate a need for sexual satisfaction; while, during a new moon the same applies, though it is his thirst for blood that he is driven by. Kristian can deny himself, but to do so usually requires he lock himself away completely until he reaches the end of the moon phase involved. The longer he is denied the more compelled he will become, possibly to the point of a loss of control (the reason for locking himself away if he decides to wait it out).
***note: The actual weakness itself only consists of a tie to a weakness possessed by one of the parents. All other information is relating to which weakness and how it manifests itself, and thus would be unique to the individual *** - "The Coma"
Related to the 'healing coma' a state vampires can be driven too if seriously injured, during which time they are unresponsive to urgent stimuli that might otherwise rouse them (even during the day). When such a state is reached, it is usually only possible to 'wake' the vampire if he/she to offer blood when it's needed (though they will not awaken enough to remember the event, and depending on the level of need, may be unable to control the voracity they exhibit to acquire said blood). Kristian enters this state whenever he slips into the typical unnatural sleep vampires undertake during the day. This makes him especially vulnerable from the point he moves out of 'natural sleep' to, what for others would be the normal 'unnatural' part of the cycle, until that point where he would shift back into a more 'natural sleep' state. When Kristian actually is in need of slipping into the healing coma, his typically lasts longer than others would for a similar state of injury, and his need for blood both develops more quickly and is more likely to elevate to a point where the one tending him could be seriously injured without precautions being taken. Fortunately, the blood related aspects of this weakness don't come into play unless he is in an actual healing coma (because he isn't out long enough for it to become an issue )
