There have been occasions where human and dhampir offspring are sold into slavery to pay off a debt. Think of 'slavery' as indentured servitude if you will, a highly legal practice that might not be common among the humans in America, but common enough in other countries that it is an accepted practice that is not contested by the Treaty. The ones doing the selling are often the slaves themselves, so be sure to haggle if you want a fair price.
